Horror Movie Challenge -- day 26, 27, 28 [Nov. 1st, 2009||08:20 pm]
Day 26
Watched 'scream' for the first time since 1997, and I have to say it still appeals to me :D -- I don't know what it is about this movie, but it draws me in from the moment Drew Barrymore answers the phone.. definitely one of the better 90's teen horrors.

Day 27
watched 'I know what you did last summer' -- I kind of like this when I was much younger, but can't even stand to watch it now. The killer is lame, the plot is lame, and the actors are lame... don't waste your time :/

Day 28
watched the Korean movie 'Cinderella' -- I am not even sure of the plot of this movie, it jumped around like crazy and was never clear on anything. Sometimes that can be a good trait in a horror movie, but for this one it was just frustrating. There are a lot of great Asian horror movies out there, but this isn't one of them..

Horror Movie Challenge -- day 23, 24, 25 [Oct. 26th, 2009||10:17 am]
Day 23
watched 'Mimic' -- not one of my favorite movies, but it's been so long since I've seen it I decided to watch it. It's not to bad really, at least not as bad as I thought

Day 24
watched 'Twilight Zone: the movie' -- I LOVE this one, especially the story with the boy who can change reality. I watched this as a kid, and I still love it today :D

Day 25
Watched 'The Vanishing' -- I really liked this one a lot. It was creepy and extremely unsettling.. I won't say any more just go watch it (the original French film, not the American remake)

And now for something completely different! [Oct. 25th, 2009||11:32 am]
[feeling | dorky]

Neil Patrick Harris = love as the music meister <3 <3 <3

Horror Movie Challenge -- day 20, 21, 22 [Oct. 25th, 2009||11:07 am]
Day 20
watched 'Killer Klowns from outer space' -- lol this one is a doozy! I love watching it with friends.. just because it is so bad you have to get a good laugh out of it :3

Day 21
watched 'White Noise 2' -- not to bad for a straight-to-dvd sequel to a not-so-great movie. It has nothing to do with the first one at all, and stars Nathan Fillion (aka captain Hammer lol)

Day 22
watched the French movie 'Them' -- I'm sad to say I sort of was in and out on this movie (I was really tire D:). It seemed good though, and not nearly as gorey as most French horror.

Horror Movie Challenge -- days 17, 18, and 19 [Oct. 20th, 2009||06:02 pm]
Day 17
I watched the 90's classic 'Brainscan' -- This was one of my favorites when I was a kid, and the Trickster reminded me of the movie Little Monsters (another childhood favorite). I can clearly see it's 90's brand cheesiness today, but I still love it <3

Day 18
I watched 'The Burning' -- at first it seems like a ripoff of Friday the 13th (and it pretty much is), but don't dismiss this movie solely based on that.. the death scenes alone are worth a watch!

Day 19
I watched the remake of 'The Omen' -- it was ok, but I definitely prefer the original over the remake.

Horror Movie Challenge -- days 14, 15, and 16 [Oct. 18th, 2009||01:53 pm]
Day 14
I watched the original 'House of Wax' with Vincent Price. This is a wonderful movie (though not the best Vincent Price has done) -- if your a fan of classic horror then add this classic to your list (and skip the remake with Paris Hilton *hork!*)

Day 15
This day I watched 'Ghost House Underground: The Children' -- It's a little slow, but pretty good for a straight to DVD release. It's like a movie created for people who hate children, and who especially hate those cutesy families who obsess over their children (except in this movie their children are blood-thirsty and diseased lol)

Day 16
I went to the theaters to see 'Paranormal Activity' -- The mood was kind of ruined by a group of jerks who kept busting out into annoying laughter, but the movie was still creepy. It was made in a way that you forget that it's a movie, and it feels more like you are watching a documentary of this poor couple who is tormented by some unseen force. I only jumped a time or two, but once I got home and it was dark.. I started to really creep myself out :C

in other news! -- I have been playing bingo every weekend with my parents. It's pretty fun, but I stick out like a sore thumb next to all the grandmas lol

Horror Movie Challenge -- days 11, 12, and 13 [Oct. 14th, 2009||12:19 pm]
Day 11
watched 'The Seventh Sign' -- watched this on fearnet, I haven't seen it since I was younger so I had forgotten a good bit of it. Not too bad, not much of a horror movie.. but still good :D

Day 12
watched the masters of horror movie 'The Screwfly Solution' -- probably one of the better MOH movies from the later seasons

Day 13
watched one of the 8 movies to die for 'Unrest' -- the whole aztec thing was a little out-there, but the movie itself was pretty good and had some great gross out moment :D

Horror Movie Challenge -- days 8, 9, and 10 [Oct. 10th, 2009||11:03 pm]
I watched the original Black Christmas, trick'r'treat again (friends wanted to watch it lol), and the 1990 remake of Night of the living dead :D

All of them were awesome! (even though I prefer the original NOTLD) Tomorrow will probably be frailty (I also watched Jigoku -- which is good, but not much of a horror movie... visually it's quite stunning, especially the hell scenes).

Horror Movie Challenge -- day 6 and 7 [Oct. 7th, 2009||05:48 pm]
Day 6 I watched the newly released Trick R Treat -- it was really good, kind of like creepshow or cat's eye but all about Halloween. Not exactly one of the best movies out there, but I can see it becoming a Halloween classic :3

Day 7 I watched Stephen King's Cat's eye -- just one of those classic anthology horror movies, not scary but certainly entertaining. I watched it as a kid and I still have a soft spot for it <3

Horror movie challenge -- day 4 and 5 [Oct. 6th, 2009||03:10 am]
So for day 4 I watched The Woods -- it was pretty good and it had Bruce Campbell which is always a plus. The plot was a little out there, but I liked it :D

Day 5, I tried to watch the masters of horror screwfly solution (got almost halfway through), but my xbox live went kaput and won't let me watch movies :/

So I am going to lie down, and watch as much of An American Werewolf in London as possible.

tomorrow's movie will either be trick r treat or jigoku :D

Horror movie challenge -- day 2 and 3 [Oct. 4th, 2009||01:40 am]
so for day 2 I watched Pumpkinhead which I love, it was one of my childhood favorites so I will always have a soft spot for it :3 -- I also went and saw Zombieland which was amazing! I loved it, I definitely recommend it..

day 3 was final cut (which is technically more of a thriller, but it can also be classified under horror so I consider it ok lol). I like this movie a lot, it really gets you thinking and usually has me on the edge of my seat even though I have seen it before. I actually watched pumpkinhead a little after midnight so it can count today if people don't consider final cut a horror movie lol

tomorrow will probably be jigoku :D

October Horror Movie Challenge - day 1 [Oct. 2nd, 2009||11:28 am]
[feeling | drained]

I am doing the October horror movie challenge this year -- I have to watch one horror movie everyday of October. Hopefully I'll also find the strength to post what I watched here so I can keep track of the movies I am watching.

Sooooo day 1!

I watched Inside, a French horror movie about a pregnant woman who is being stalked/attacked by a crazy woman (and when I say crazy I mean CRRRAAAZZZY! lol). It was a very typical French horror movie: very predictable, lots and lots of blood, riots, strong female lead (with dark skin and dark hair), and an unhappy ending. It was ok, nothing special... if you've seen one French horror movie you've seen them all.

not sure what movie I will be watching today (sorry i didn't get to post this until Oct. 2nd lol). I'll post later tonight on the next horror movie :D

lupus [Sep. 23rd, 2009||09:16 am]
[feeling | indescribable]

I'm so tired of being sick with this disease.

I don't remember if I mentioned it here or not, but recently I decided to go back into the job market. I got a job at a retail store as a CSA. I thought I was well enough until the fourth day or work where i was put out on the floor. I nearly passed out, but managed to look normal until I got into the car. The pain in my feet and toes was unbearable... the next day both of my big toes turned black (the blood pooled up under the nails). Needless to say I called them up, and told them I couldn't come back... I never felt so useless and helpless. I was scheduled to work 2 10 hour days that weekend, and that one 8 hour day had made it where I couldn't even walk.. I didn't have much of a choice.

I hate it when I go into something like that only to have this disease rear it's ugly head full force. It shouldn't be so hard for a 23 year old woman to just stand on her feet for a few hours. Worse thing is I can't even apply for disability (not that they would give it to me anyways.. invisible diseases suck like that). I've had this disease for a long time, and never could hold down a job for too long.. the most was 6 months. So now I don't have enough work credits, and I can't do diddly squat about it. I am 23 years old I shouldn't even be thinking about disability! I should be graduating college like all of my high school friends, but even that was too hard for my sick body... I had to drop out of art college 2 months after starting (I am really hoping to go back at some point though *crosses fingers*)

Worst of all my husband struggled so hard just to provide for me, and all I do is sit at the house feeling like a useless lump. He is going to work and school full time, he works so hard.. and I feel like such a burden (though he doesn't ever see me that way). I will be so glad when he graduates next semester, so he can focus on work and not have so much to do for school.

and now that I lost my health insurance I am not sure how I am going to get my next month of lupus meds...

I'm just so exhausted all of the time, and everything hurts.. I want a normal life. I wish my only worry was the responsibilities of your average Joe. Instead I am the person who thinks that every time their sides hurt their kidneys are failing D: *sigh*

back from AWA 09! [Sep. 21st, 2009||11:38 am]
[feeling | drained]

This year's AWA was incredible! Mostly because I went with some awesome people, and our group wasn't too big this year. We have so many inside jokes now, and we got to go to marietta diner.. which I have decided has the best cake/food in the entire world. I even took pictures of the cake lol X3

I got a ton of cool stuff too -- 3 new shirts (including a house m.d. lupus shirt, a steampunk shirt, and a phoenix wright shirt with Godot on it), 3 phoenix wright cellphone charms, goggles, the entire first season of Hellgirl, a fox hat, a new bookmark, and some tarepanda memo pads

I got some great pictures too, and a 10 minute video of the Taiko drum performance. There were some really creative cosplays this year.. one of my faves being steampunk mario and peach. I'll probably post a few of my favorite pics later, and maybe put the taiko video on youtube.

I am so dead tired though.. I may sleep for a week lol

AWA or Bust! [Sep. 17th, 2009||07:16 pm]

It's off to AWA for me!

see you guys Sunday :D

Happy birthday to me! :D [Aug. 25th, 2009||11:24 am]
[feeling | ecstatic]

Today I turn 23, and I feel like an old fart (but a happy old fart lol)

I can't believe my birthday is already here, and next month will be AWA (an anime convention I go to every year). I've already received a lot of birthday wishes from friends and family today. It makes me happy to know so many people care :3

Cupcake :D [Aug. 20th, 2009||02:27 pm]
[feeling | artistic]
[listening |capsule]

Decided to take that little cupcake werewolf sketch and clean it up. -- It took me quite some time to decide on her colors, but in the end I thought she would look pretty awesome albino (yay pink :B)

Photobucket
Cupcaake!!!

I tried to fix her ears but they are still wonky... guess I am a little rusty since I haven't been drawing as much lately. I just colored her flat with a mouse (since I cannot use a tablet.. ended up selling mine to a friend :C). I love her to pieces, and have been working on doing a full body sketch of her -- I just can't seem to get the anatomy right.. x 3X; But I already have her colors picked out for her body (black and pink speckled footpads, pink claws except for black thumb claws and dew claws, white fur/body). I am debating on whether to put her in tattered clothes or just au naturale lol

expect more sketches and maybe even a finished drawing soon *gaspu!* :O

"There wolf, there castle" [Aug. 20th, 2009||12:57 am]
[feeling | exhausted]
[listening |eye of the tiger - survivor]

I am still on a werewolf kick.. I've been drawing them like mad, and watching tons of werewolf movies for the past few weeks -- and then today I realized the missmonster (from DA) designed an awesome werewolf toy on patch together (which I will be pre-ordering asap).

Out of all the little werewolvies I have been drawing my favorite one is called cupcake :B. I just drew her today so her design needs some tweeking (as well as a more skilled artist to draw her... curse my sub-par artistic skills! *shakey fist*). Here is a little sketch of her I did on the side of doodle page:

cupcake grrrrr! )

What is your favorite commercial from your childhood? Bonus points if you include a video of it.

I will always love the taco bell chihuahua commercials! It's probably the reason I ended up owning a chihuahua in my adulthood. Heck.. I even collected all of the taco bell chihuahua toys lol X3

I was also a taco bell fiend as a child -- when my grandmother moved in with us due to cancer, we use to go once a week and get taco bell. I always got a Mexican pizza and she got a taco salad, and we'd eat it while watching game shows together.

Anniversary <3 [Jul. 13th, 2009||11:02 pm]
[feeling | ecstatic]

This Wednesday will be my 3 year wedding anniversary, and my marriage couldn't be any more perfect... I love being married, especially to a man as wonderful as Derrick <3

We won't be able to celebrate on Wednesday, but we are going to celebrate all day Thursday. We are going into town to see the new Harry Potter movie -- then going out to eat at one of our favorite restaurants. We'll probably mosey around town.. I am thinking of going to godiva to get the same chocolates we had on our honeymoon -w- hehe

in other news -- I have been finding myself watching/researching about pregnancy/birth. I don't plan on having a kid for quite some time (I'm just not mature enough atm to be a mommy). But I am glad I am learning more and more each day so I can be prepared in the future <3
